The algorithm works by sanitizing both names (removing punctuation, converting to lowercase), then calculating a raw score based on the sum of all character codes. This raw score is processed through a modulo operation to ensure fairness, and then normalized to produce a final compatibility percentage between 51% and 100%. The calculation is completely deterministic - the same two names will always produce the same result.
